In juni 2006 is deze herziene uitgave van Basisboek Pathologie verschenen. De leerstof is in deze uitgave geactualiseerd naar aanleiding van nieuwe behandelvormen, ontwikkelingen op het gebied van hematologisch onderzoek en het onderzoek en de behandeling van de schildwachtklier bij borstkanker. Daarnaast heeft het boek meer het karakter van een naslagwerk gekregen omdat de leerdoelen zijn verdwenen. De opbouw van het boek is hetzelfde gebleven. Basisboek Pathologie behandelt uitvoerig de begrippen uit de pathologie en farmacologie, en legt de basis voor ziektekunde. Naast een heldere uitleg van de begrippen uit de pathologie en farmacologie is er volop aandacht voor onder andere auto-immuniteit, brachytherapie, DNA- en RNA-virus, LDL- en HDL-cholesterol, en hospices voor palliatieve zorg. De studieactiviteiten bij elk hoofdstuk leiden de student zelfstandig door de leerstof.
