Medical Physiology: A Systems Approach offers a succinct yet thorough overview of physiology along with an introduction to basic science principles and their relevance to the clinical expression of disease. The book reflects medical education's increased emphasis on providing students with more clinically oriented content during their first two years of medical school and the importance of the essential concepts of pathophysiology. Focused and clearly written, Medical Physiology: A Systems Approach details the major physiological processes involved in both health and disease. Each chapter begins with a list of Objectives, includes Key Concepts, and ends with Study Questions designed to test your knowledge of major concepts covered in that chapter. Most chapters also include Clinical Correlations that reinforce the major physiological principles covered and illustrate their importance to understanding disease states. Content that reflects a strong focus on physiological concepts and clinical correlates: Introduction to Physiology, Cell Physiology, Muscle Physiology, CNS/Neural Physiology, Cardiovascular Physiology, Pulmonary Physiology, Renal Physiology, GI Physiology, Endocrine and Metabolic Physiology, Integrative Physiology Hershel Raff is Professor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He is co-author on the Vander Higher Education textbook, which is the leading Human Physiology text at that level. He is also the Associate Editor in Advances in Physiology Education. Dr. Raff's primary interest is the development of new methods in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of Cushing's syndrome. Doug Eaton is Distinguished Professor and Chairman of Physiology at Emory University. In addition to authoring Vander?s, Renal Physiology, Eaton has been an Associate Editor for American Journal of Physiology-Cell Physiology and is currently an Associate Editor for American Journal of Physiology-Renal Physiology. He is also on the editorial board of the Journal of Biological Chemistry. He served on National Science Foundation Neurobiology Advisory Pane from 1980-1983. He has been a regular member and Chairman of three NIH Study Sections: the Physiology Study Section (1985-1988); National Institutes of Digestive Diseases and Kidney Special Grants Study Section (1989-1993); and the General Medicine B Study Section (1994-1998). He also served on the NIH General Medical Sciences: Large grants (Glue) review panel (1999-2000). Besides the regular membership on NIH study sections, he has served on over 40 Ad Hoc Review Panels and Site Visit Teams for NIDDK, NHLBI, NIGMS, NCRR, and NCI since 1975. He also served on the National Institute of Standards and Technology Review Board from 1985-1999 and as a member Signal Transduction Review Panel for the American Heart Association. Michael Levitzky is Professor and Interim Head of the LSU Department of Physiology and is the Director of Basic Science Curriculum. He has received numerous awards including Outstanding Professor in Medicine in 2006 and 2007, selected by Senior Class of 2007 to participate in Pre-Commencement Hooding Ceremony, and is listed in the Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, Who's Who in Frontier Science and Technology, Who's Who in the South and Southwest, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, American Men and Women of Science, and the Dictionary of International Biography. Levitzky is currently a Teaching Section Liaison to the Education Committee, at the American Physiological Society and in 2003 was the Chair of the Arthur C. Guyton Teacher of the Year Award, Committee, at the American Physiological Society.

In welke staat is je boek?
Een belangrijke factor van een tweedehands boek is de staat van het boek. De koper mag niet voor verrassingen komen te staan. Vermeld steeds duidelijke beschadigingen of gebreken.
