Clinical Cardiac MRI is a comprehensive textbook intended for everyone involved in magnetic resonance imaging of the heart. It is designed both as a useful guide for newcomers to the field and as an aid for those who routinely perform such studies. The first edition, published in 2004-5, was very well received within the cardiac imaging community, and has generally been considered the reference because of its completeness, its clarity, and the number and quality of the illustrations. Moreover, the addition of online material showing 50 real-life cases significantly enhanced the value of the book. In this second edition, the four editors, all experts in the field, have taken great care to maintain a homogeneous high quality throughout the book while incorporating the newest insights and developments in this rapidly evolving domain of medical imaging. Essential theoretical background information is included, and imaging acquisition and potential pitfalls are examined in detail. Most importantly, structured guidelines are provided on the interpretation of clinical data in the wide range of cardiac pathology that can be encountered. Finally, the selection of 100 real-life cases, added as online material, will further enhance the value of this textbook. * Completely updated edition of the most comprehensive and best-illustrated book on cardiac MRI * Designed and edited by four experts in the field * Emphasis on the daily use of cardiac MRI in clinical practice * Integrates the newest insights in cardiac MRI technology and cardiac pathology and pathophysiology Table of contents Cardiac MR Physics.- MR Contrast Agents for Cardiac Imaging.- Practical Setup.- Cardiac Anatomy.- Cardiovascular MR Imaging Planes and Segmentation.- Cardiac Function.- Myocardial Perfusion.- Ischemic Heart Disease.- Nonischemic Myocardial Disease.- Pulmonary Hypertension.- Heart Failure and Heart Transplantation.- Pericardial Disease.- Cardiac Masses.- Valvular Heart Disease.- Coronary Artery Disease.- Congenital Heart Disease.- Great Vessels.- MR-Guided Cardiac Catheterization.- Cardiac Modelling.- Future Perspectives.- General Conclusion. Jan Bogaert, MD, PhD, works in the Department of Radiology, Gasthuisberg University Hospital, Leuven, Belgium and is a Professor at the Catholic University, Leuven. During his early career in the 1990s he received a Kodak Belgium Grant (1993) and a grant from the Royal Belgian Society of Radiology (1994). His awards include the “Prix de l'APERR” (l'association pour l'étude et la recherce en radiologie) (1996), a Young Investigators Award from the Society of Nuclear Medicine (1997), and a Cardiac MR Science Award for excellence in the field of cardiovascular MR research (Philips, Miami, 2006). He is currently a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance and was previously on the editorial board of the Belgian Journal of Radiology and of European Radiology (cardiovascular radiology) and was an associate editor of the European Heart Journal (2005-2008). From 2006 to 2008 he served as a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Society of Radiology. In 2006, he was a member of the Health Technology Assessment, Kenniscentrum, on the value of MRI. Book condition
An important factor of a second-hand book is the condition of the book. The buyer may not be surprised. Always mention damages or defects. We use a system with 3 stars:
The book is acceptable: you have used it to study and made notes and markings – but everything is still readable. The cover and pages are in good condition.
The book still looks good: there are a few notes in it and you marked it. There are hardly any signs of use on the cover and pages
The book is (almost) new: you have not written or marked in it. There are no signs of use on the cover and pages
