Hij verricht onderzoekswerk naar de effecten van acute en chronische traumatisering en doceert aan binnenlandse en buitenlandse universiteiten. Hij verleende psychologische opvang en begeleiding aan de getroffenen van verkeersongevallen, collectieve urgenties en oorlogssituaties.
